It’s been 9 months since I started my economic and human Liteboat adventure, as my professional career as an engineer in a large company has been very far removed from this.
I recently read in an e-mail exchange that I sold my 9th boat at the beginning of March. The 9th LiteSport, my favorite among the products for rowing, I admit.
At the same time, I deliver my real first sale.
As they say, a complete customer journey. Correspondence, phone calls, which are still going strong today, and meeting the customer at his rowing spot to present and test the boat. “Yes, if we want to buy the LiteSport, how does that work?” “Yes, then I’d love to deliver it to you so that we can set it up together and I’ll give you a rowing course,” I say spontaneously and boldly. I find industrial transportation that dumps a huge crate in front of the customer’s house unpleasant or pointless in this context.
This, naturally, forms the sequence of my journey to make Liteboat known, which takes me to the most beautiful spots in Germany and to some very warmly loved people.
The big day arrives quickly and I’m no longer just standing there with a LiteSport, but with my entire delivery after 4 months, my very first delivery.
Both the customer and I, the saleswoman, are filled with stage fright, as if we were about to make an important stage appearance. The buyer is accompanied by her family. Our conversations later reveal our shared view that the Liteboat, or LiteSport, is a new chapter in life, as lasting bliss on the water will now be a major part of her leisure time, making it a real family project.
The fantastic windless, sunny weather on the Sea of the Alps, as Lake Chiemsee is called in Germany, is a real blessing for this extraordinary day.
After around 2 hours of instruction on how to set up and adjust the LiteSport, he finally feels the cool water beneath him after being driven to the water in the comfort of the boat trolley.
The day brings 3 happy people on the water and 5 in total – a very strong family happiness and also that of the entrepreneur. Together we are deeply satisfied that this interaction between “buyer and seller” was and is a personal challenge for everyone. A new piece of happiness is developing in both of us.
Full of gratitude, we look at the magic of the lake to which a new magic LiteSport is added on this dreamlike Sunday.
